Both tools read the technology behind a website. BuiltWith profiles what other websites are built with and sells that data to sales, analyst and eCommerce teams. AwesomeTechStack audits and watches the sites you are responsible for and alerts you when their stack gains a known vulnerability, reaches end-of-life or drifts.
Which one you want
We would rather you pick the right tool than pick us. BuiltWith describes itself below in its own words, quoted from its own pages on 6 Sep 2026.
Stay with BuiltWith if you research other people's websites at scale, need lists pushed into a CRM, or want a historical database and raw datasets. The headline on BuiltWith is “Find out what websites are Built With”, and its homepage addresses “Sales Teams”, “AI & Engineering Teams”, “Investors and Analysts” and “eCommerce Data”. Its plans page lists “CRM Integration: Yes” on Basic, Pro and Team and describes “history going back 41 years”; Team Ultra “includes access to BuiltWith Datasets for datasets with up to 100,000,000 records”. That is what it is built for, and this is not it.
Just want to see what one site runs, once? BuiltWith calls its own single-site lookups “free to use for individual site lookups forever” (read 6 Sep 2026).
