Frequently asked questions
Answers about the Awesomeness Score, how audits work, monitoring and what you can audit with AwesomeTechStack.
What is the Awesomeness Score?
A 0-100 grade of a website's technology stack, computed from four audited dimensions - technology choice, version freshness, engineering quality and AI-readiness - graded on every new audit. Bands: 0-49 low, 50-89 medium, 90-100 high.
How does an audit work?
Enter a URL. We detect the stack (5,000+ technologies), measure version freshness against release history, run a quality audit and grade everything into one score - in about 2 minutes.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The audit reads the live site from the outside - no agent, no snippet, no access required.
What does monitoring add?
We re-scan your sites on schedule and log new vulnerabilities, end-of-life technologies, version drift, score changes and certificate expiry to a live event feed you read in-app. Webhooks push the same events to your own systems.
Can this keep me safe before a pentest?
It watches the same surface a pentest recon does - outdated libraries, known advisories, end-of-life technology. The event feed on any paid plan flags them before the pentest bill does.
Where does the AI-Readiness grade come from?
Six published checks - llms.txt, agent access, agent identity, structured data, readable-without-JS, sitemap - rolled into one A-F grade on every audit; emerging signals report n/a until they are graded. Grades are versioned; when the AI web moves, your site re-checks.
How fresh is the data?
Every audit is a fresh scan. Watched sites re-check on schedule - daily on every paid plan - and log it to your event feed when something moves.
Is there an API?
Yes - the audit API ships today: start an audit, poll the status, read the full result as JSON. It's included on every paid plan from Starter up - REST and an MCP server for agents, no separate API plan (a CI action is on the way). See the API page.
Can I audit any website?
Any publicly reachable site - yours or a competitor's. Private and staging environments need to be reachable from the internet.
Where do I see prices?
On the pricing page - plans start free.
